How is the return calculated?

Blackwell Invest uses Time Weighted Return to calculate the return % displayed, which mitigates the impact of deposits and withdrawals. Return is measured per trade, which means when a trade is closed, the % gain or loss is aggregated to a total Return.

What is the difference between realised return and live return?

Realised return is based on closed trades while live return includes both open and closed trades.

How do I assess a signal’s track record?

Trade history data is available on signals’ profiles, but trades before a gap of more than 30 days or trades before the signal linked their MT4/5 account to Blackwell Invest will not appear.

Realised P/L is based on a signal’s full trade history, even the trades that are not shown. Additionally, you may also see when a signal started based on the graph on its profile.

What is Unrealised P/L?

It is a reflection of what profit or loss could be made if the position was closed in that instant. The P/L does not become realised until the position is closed.

Why are some trades not appearing on the Activity page?

Please note that the trades appear in the time zone of the signal. The number of trades shown is also dependent on the signals’ trading volume. Your activity page may not display all trades for high volume signals.

Are there entry requirements set to ensure the quality of signals?

Our regulated partner has a team of account managers and compliance officers screening every signal application.
Signals may not be approved if:
  • Initial balance of the account is below $500 or if current balance is too low because of withdrawn funds. This leads to misleading statistics and inflated returns.
  • They have not traded for more than 6 months with the account linked unless they have proof of 6 months trading with another account.
  • The Max Drawdown is too high (over 55%).
  • Trades are too infrequent (eg: regularly pauses for long periods or trades erratically).
  • They failed risk assessment by the compliance team.
